ASID Updated Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

WASHINGTON, DC – March 26, 2021 – Today, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) issued the following statement:

“The foundation and beauty of our profession is rooted in diversity. Each practitioner brings unique gifts to our shared body of knowledge, from diversity of thought and experience to race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion and so much more. Interior Design’s impact on health, wellness, and sustainability would not be what is today without these incredible contributions.

ASID remains committed to working together to peacefully unite people in difference and diversity for the dismantlement of all forms of discrimination to include racism.

In no uncertain terms, ASID will continue to embody the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our programs, products, services, and membership.

ASID stands in solidarity with our repressed, underrepresented, and minority communities worldwide.

Together, in the face of adversity, we must stand united as one community.”
